Ellen M. Kelman. Born in 1954 at Glen Cove, New York. Ms. Kelman attended Radcliffe College and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1976. She then attended, concurrently the Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Law School. She received Master of Public Policy and Juris Doctor degrees in 1980, both cum laude.

She is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Kelman published a lengthy article on American labor law history in the St. John's Law Review in 1980, and an article on welfare policy in Dissent in 1977. In 1984, she lectured at a conference on Law and Society in Boston and at the Industrial Relations Research Association and in 1988 lectured at the Conference on Critical Legal Studies in Washington, D.C. on contemporary labor law strategies. Since that time, she has addressed groups concerning issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act, equal employment opportunity laws and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). She is a member of the Conference on Critical Legal Studies and the Alliance for Justice.

In addition to practicing all aspects of employment law, including issues raised by the ERISA, Ms. Kelman has represented unions and ERISA qualified trusts in approximately a dozen bankruptcy cases in the District of Colorado.  She has been qualified as an expert witness on ERISA representation in federal court.  Ms. Kelman's aggressive representation of clients with disputes over such matters as disability, retirement and medical benefits has resulted in favorable outcomes against some of America's largest corporations and insurers.

She has three children, two sons and a daughter. Her hobbies are writing Regency novels and quilting.
